Election Day is upon us. This is when we exercise our right to cast our ballots for the candidates and the issues that matter most to each of us. It all comes down to this on Tuesday, November 5. No matter your political affiliation or lack of affiliation, everyone should exercise their right to vote.

If you're looking for your polling place, Maine.gov can let you know by just entering the town you live in and your address.

Maine recognizes many political parties, not just Democratic and Republican. Each year in January, the State of Maine releases the data on enrollment and registration numbers.

Data for each political party is given with the number of enrolled, active, and registered voters. Here's a look at the data from January of 2024.

Democratic  - 343,488 enrolled with 36.2% of total active, registered voters

Green Independent - 37,279 enrolled with 3.9% of total active, registered voters

Libertarian - 5,236 enrolled with 0.6% of total active, registered voters

No Labels - 9,497 enrolled with 1% of total active, registered voters

Republican - 279,936 enrolled with 29.5% of total active, registered voters

Unenrolled - 273,298 with 28.8% of active, registered voters

Total number of enrolled, active voters: 948,734

Maine Democrats have the most enrolled of any party in the state, with Republicans the second-most, and unenrolled, the number of voters who have not enrolled in any party, is third, just slightly less than Republicans.

Make sure you get out and cast your vote on Election Day.
