Mainers have their winter traditions every year that usually have something to do with a Sunday River trip with the fam. That also means that every winter, most of us know what to expect on both opening and closing day of the season. However, looks like this year's closing day has a little plot twist to it (nothing bad).

When is closing day for Sunday River?

According to sundayriver.com, the final weekend to ski the slopes up at the mountain is April 22-23.

Here's a quick incentive for being here right now and reading this article: they're offering free tickets on Sunday, April 23, 2024, to close out the winter season. They're also offering a bunch of other things coming up as well, and reminding us when certain shops like the rental shop will be closing for the season. I happen to know that the weekend before the last weekend, you will not be able to rent equipment. Click here for more details.

Anyways, back to what's different about closing day this year up at the river. Most of you are probably used to closing out your winter season on Barker 6. Due to construction and a message from sundayriver.com, you'll be closing out the season on the new Jordan 8 (exciting)!

This year, our schedule looks a little different than in the past. Construction for the new Barker 6 officially begins April 17, so we will enjoy our final days of the season on the new Jordan 8.
