Maine’s Most Popular Street Name is Hilariously Obvious
I grew up on the most boring street, ever.
As a kid, I never really thought twice about the street I lived on. Other than having to get out of the way of traffic when we were playing football in the street. Not there was anything memorable about growing up on numbered street. I had many other boring streets over my lifetime as well, that I never gave a thought about.

As I started to get older and buy houses, I became a bit more discerning about where I wanted to live. Not just the location specifically, but my wife and I definitely passed on a few houses that were on streets with dumb/awful names. These days, we live on a nice, normal road, with a nice, normal name. I'm grateful for that.
What are the most common street names in Maine?
Maine loves its nature names. Or names that imply nature anyway. Like the second most popular name in Maine is Shore Road. Seems fitting, being a coastal state. You'd think Pine Street or some derivative would be near the top, but "Pine" is actually almost all the way at the bottom at number 9. Go figure.
However, tree streets are pretty much king in Maine, making up almost the entirety of the list. Birch, Maple, Cedar, Evergreen, and of course, the aforementioned Pine. Sunset is also thrown in there for good measure. Like I said, nature themes seemed to pretty much dominate the list.
So what's the most popular street name in Maine?
Why, Main Street, of course! Hilarious to me, actually. You have no idea how often I go to type "main" and add an E. For the record, I literally did it twice in a row trying to type that word right now, hahaha. Maine's most common street name makes up most of our actual state's name. Not really a surprise, but still...

There are 140 "Main Streets" across the state. Although, Shore Road wasn't that distant in 2nd place. There's 117 of those, according to the Washington Post.
