As the crisp October air flies over Augusta, there is one special spooky event we are all waiting for!

It’s Trick or Treat on Water Street brought to you be the Augusta Downtown Alliance and Augusta Maine Fire-Rescue.

This annual tradition truly transforms downtown into a festive Halloween hub, and this year is gearing up to become even more enchanting and magical.

As we all know, Water Street is already known for its charm, and historic, cozy feel, but when Halloween rolls around, it becomes something straight out of a Hallmark movie. All the storefronts are decorated with pumpkins, cobwebs, and glowing lanterns.

And the community of witches, ghosts, and goblins whimsically walk the street.

The event is set for All Hallows Eve, Thursday, October 31, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. and running until 8 p.m., according to the Augusta Downtown Alliance.

Don’t miss the costume contest at 6:15 p.m., so make sure to dress to impress.

This year's event will feature over 40 vendors, exciting food trucks, engaging games, and activities for kids. There will be dancing to live music by Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations.

My favorite part? The witches’ dance, featuring the talented folks of Merkaba Sol Witches’ Dance Crew. They will be performing at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. It’s truly an unbelievable sight
