The Rooting Pig Brings Farm-to-Table Dining to Broad Arrow Farm in Bristol, Maine

Have you ever been to Broad Arrow Farm in Bristol? Well, here’s even more of a reason to go now. The farm just recently opened its own farm-to-table restaurant called The Rooting Pig, right inside its historic barn.

What’s on the Menu

The menu puts Broad Arrow Farm’s pasture-raised pigs front and center, while also bringing in ingredients from other sustainable local farms. And the food is literally jaw-dropping. These are the kind of plates that almost look too good to dig into, almost.

You’ll find charcuterie, pork dishes and seasonal plates, along with Maine beer, wine, cocktails and cider. It’s farm-to-table in the truest sense, with some of what’s on your plate coming from the same farm where you’re sitting down to eat.

Worth the Drive

And then there’s the setting. The Rooting Pig is tucked inside Broad Arrow Farm’s historic barn, which makes the whole experience that much better. It still has that rustic Maine farm feel, just with some seriously good-looking food being served inside.

The Rooting Pig is open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at 33 Benner Road in Bristol. If you’re looking for another reason to take a drive down the Pemaquid Peninsula, this is a good one.
