This weekend, Maine is set to have the highly-anticipated Miles for Mills event! I am so eager to take part in this event again, and my running shoes are laced up! I, along with thousands of other Mainers, will take part in this iconic event that promises to be moving and memorable for all!

Organized by the Travis Mills Foundation, this event honors the resilience and of our beloved veterans while raising thousands of dollars to support recalibrated veterans and their families.

Miles for Mills isn't just a race. It's a celebration of community spirit for those who have served our country. People from all over the state come together, including runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers. And get this: each mile you run, you encounter a poster of a veteran who has sacrificed their life for our country. It is the most emotional run you will ever experience, as participants dressed in their military and firefighter uniforms stop to salute the photos of the fallen as they pass by.

Travis Mills is a quadruple amputee and retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, and his foundation has been nothing short of instrumental in helping to support vets who have experienced life-altering injuries. So this year, the funds raised during Miles for Mills will go to the foundation's programs!

This amazing event is not just about the race, but also about community engagement. It will offer family-friendly activities, live music, and opportunities to learn more about the foundation’s work.

Local businesses and volunteers have joined to make sure the event goes well and shows our strong spirit in supporting our veterans. Join us this weekend at Brunswick Landing on Sunday, May 26, at 8:00 AM for the unforgettable Miles for Mills.

Be part of an incredible event that embodies courage, support, and the power of coming together for a greater good.
