I love how ‘spooky season’ has really evolved over the last few decades.

When I was a kid, growing up in Aroostook County, we basically one day of Halloween fun.  With the exception of doing some Halloween crafts and a little bit of decorating in our classrooms, everything happened on Halloween.

And, it didn’t matter what day of the week Halloween landed on.  If you were lucky, it was on a Friday or Saturday, but normally it was on a weekday.  Because of that, trick-or-treating was often an early evening thing and was pretty much done by 7:30 or 8.

These days, Halloween in Maine is quite a bit different.  While some families still go trick-or-treating door-to-door, many more take advantage of trunk-or-treat events and events organized by towns and cities.

Not sure where you should be taking the kids to go trick-or-treating?  We want to help you.  We’ve put together a list of some of the best family-friendly Halloween events in Maine.
