Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts Residents Urged to Paint Their Bedrooms For Better Sleep
For most of us, modern life is pretty hectic.
Thanks to our smartphones, we start our day before we get out of bed and don't end our day until after we go to bed.
This technology, while it has made us more productive than we have ever been, it has also led to us not getting anywhere near enough sleep each night.
I am guilty of not getting enough sleep. On average, I only get about six hours of sleep during the week. Assuming I don't have a lot of late night gigs, I can often get a few extra hours on the weekend, but the experts will tell you that you really cannot 'catch up' on sleep.
Is there anything that can be done to improve your quality of sleep?
The first thing you can do is PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN! We all know that endlessly scrolling through our phones prevents us from getting a quality night's sleep, yet we continue to do it.
Is there anything else that can be done?
The Color of Your Bedroom Affects Your Quality of Sleep
According to an article on the Sleep Junkie website, the color of your bedroom can have a serious impact on how you sleep.
The article explains that, for the best sleep, you are going to want to paint your room purple. The study that they did found that 84% of people who painted their bedrooms purple generally had a good night's sleep. Only 12% of people with purple bedrooms said that they generally had a poor night's sleep.
The study also found that the worst colors to paint your bedroom are green, beige, and brown.
The study also investigated the size of the bedroom, the size of the bed, and how the bedroom is configured (where the furniture is in relation to windows and doors). Check out the entire study HERE.
What color is your bedroom? Do you generally sleep well or poorly?
