New Family Restaurant Opening in Brewer Maine
Considering the number of restaurants that we have seen close in the last few years, it is always great to hear about a new one opening.
According to an article on the WABI website, work is progressing on a new Brewer restaurant. The article explains that Benjamin’s Brewer, a new veteran-owned restaurant and pub coming to Acme Road, likely to open sometime in the next few months, with a grand opening happening sometime in January.
Owner Richard Clark has been working on the project for about five years.
Clark, a US Army veteran, plans to decorate the place with military memorabilia. He said:
The whole theme of the place, it’s named after Ben Franklin, just like Benjamin’s Pub on Franklin Street, but it’s going to be a veteran and first responder themed place.
Richard and Mandy Clark previously ran the longtime favorite Benjamin’s Restaurant & Pub in Bangor before selling it at the end of last year.
The new spot will span 4,200 square feet and feature homemade brews on tap along with a large outdoor beer garden.
The grand opening was originally planned for Veterans Day but was delayed as construction took longer than expected. Clark says the process has been moving more smoothly since.
The article explains that representatives from the City of Brewer came over last week to give the owner a small list of things that need to be taken care of before the restaurant can open.
The grand opening is now set for mid-January, with the outdoor beer garden expected to open in the spring.
