According to a press release from Augusta Police Department Chief Kevin Lully, two men are being held without bail after they were arrested for allegedly breaking into an ATM at a credit union on Civic Center Drive.

The press release explains that, at about 4:30 on Thursday morning, members of the Augusta Police Department were called to Connected Credit Union on Civic Center Drive.  The burglary alarm at the credit union had apparently went off.

When officers arrived, they found two men at the scene.  Police later identified them as Moises Alejandro Martinez Gutierre and Lester Edward Gutter.  The press release did not indicate whether or not they were local.

Gutierre was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.  Gutter was also taken into custody and is facing several charges, including receiving stolen property, attaching false plates, operating a vehicle without a license, and refusing to identify himself.

Both men are currently being held at the Kennebec County Jail with no bail allowed at this time.

*NOTE - All suspects are considered innocent until being found guilty in a court of law

Police say evidence connected to the case was seized during the arrests.
