Let's talk about driving, shall we? I got my permit when I was 15 and then my license, on the second try when I was 16. I have been driving for 21 years and I think I have a pretty good handle on the steering wheel, if you get my meaning.

In the past I would drive like an idiot. It's true. Listen to this.

When I was in my late teens, I would prop my left foot up on my seat, lean back, while listening to Missy Elliot and bob my head because I was wicked cool.

I have since grown from that extremely dangerous way of driving, but have noticed others still do things that are similar.

For example, driving with both feet. Who does that? Seriously.

I have tried and to me, it is impossible. But for some, it's a way of life.

My meaning is taking your left foot and propping it onto the break and your right foot would be pushing the gas. Normally, we only driving with our right foot and use that one foot for both the gas and break.

Is it illegal to drive with both feet in Maine? There are absolutely no law currently that states that driving with both feet is illegal.

According to The Zebra,

There is no law on the books that says you can’t drive with both feet. In fact, there are times when it makes more sense to drive with both feet. So, why then do we have this idea that it’s so wrong to do so?

It boils down mostly to comfort. But there are also safety concerns associated with driving with both feet. Still, no states have laws in place to stop drivers.

I am guessing this is something that should be situational, since the words above determine its about comfort. However, I do personally believe it's a terrible idea to do so.

Here's why. If you are driving with both feet and cough, sneeze, fart, or jam out too hard to Missy Elliot and your body jolts, both feet move forward or one slips, boom, crash, bang, zip.

Also, vehicles are designed for the driver to use one foot to operate the gas and break.

Your brain is used to using one foot to drive.

The Zebra even lists a number of other reasons why it's a bad idea from hitting the wrong pedal to just plain making you tired.
