During her inaugural address on Wednesday night, Maine's new governor remembered a time when she tried to predict the future.

Trying to illustrate her point that the state needs an office of innovation and future planning, Mills recalled that back in 1999, at the turn of the century, she tried to predict what would still be around - and what wouldn't be - in 50 years.

Here's what she thought wouldn't be around in 2050:

  • Paper Bags
  • Spare Tires
  • Lint
  • Dust
  • Panty Hose
