Last week I got posted a picture of the sign at Mister Bagel on Forest Avenue very curious about the message it was sending. Well, I heard from Mister Bagel and the reason why the sign says "Fresh Hot Poo" is one I never would have thought of.

I wrote the article because the sign had been up for over a month. At first, I thought someone had gone and swapped the letters around as you see so often with these types of signs. Kids trying to be funny and spelling bad words like they're playing a game of dirty Scrabble. But if that was the case, surely the owners would have changed the sign back by now.

After the original story was posted on Facebook, the person behind the Mister Bagel Forest Avenue Facebook page left a comment, finally letting us all know exactly why the sign says "Local fresh hot poo here." Their response is brilliantly funny.

In case you can't read the image above it says:

Don't need to read into anything!!! When doing the sign it was supposed to say FOOD but didn't have an "f" at the time! Was wondering if people actually read the sign...so Poo was put up!

That is fantastic! I was certainly reading the sign, and I'm sure it got the attention of the thousands of people who drive by it every day on Forest Avenue. I'd be willing to start a collection for a letter "F" for their sign, but I kinda want the hot poo to stay. It's almost like a trademark at this point.

In fact Mister Bagel, "Hot Poo" should be a code word for some special secret menu item not listed. If someone comes in and orders "Fresh hot poo" they're going off the board to get that super-secret thing. That idea is yours, free of charge!
