My fiancee, my daughters, and I set out on a road trip to New Hampshire over the weekend, to visit family. From the Portland area, it's not too far. But far enough to feel long, unless you have something fun to do to pass the time. I'm proud to say that I invented what might be the most fun road trip game you've ever heard of! There's a musical group called Vitamin String Quartet. They've recorded dozens of albums over the past twenty years, which are covers of pop and rock songs, done as string quartet instrumentals. That might sound a little lame, but check out some of the bands they've covered - Queen, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, The Beatles...as well as more contemporary acts, such as Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Sia, and Imagine Dragons. There was even a radio station in Concord, NH that once played their music 24/7 for a time.

So here's the road trip game we play - one person will be the "DJ" and control the VSQ songs on Spotify. Everyone else has to name the song that's being played. It's so much fun because when you hear the songs, you know them...but often times, the title of the song is on the tip of your tongue, but you just can't spit it out. It helps my family pass the time on road trips, and maybe it can help yours! It becomes a very competitive game! Here are a few example of some very well known songs, re-imagined by the Vitamin String Quartet:
