Memorial Day is a day to honor the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

If you'd like to observe the day in your area, take a look at our list of some of the Monday Memorial Day Parades in the state:

Brunswick and Topsham

Starts: 8:30 a.m.

The parade heads down Main Street in Topsham across the Frank J Woods Bridge and heads up Maine Street in Brunswick to the Gazebo on the Brunswick Mall.

Falmouth

Starts: 10 a.m.

The parade starts at the American Legion building at 65 Depot Road and heads to Pine Grove Park for a memorial ceremony.

Portland

Starts: 10:30 a.m.

The parade starts at Longfellow Square and heads down Congress Street ending at Monument Square.

South Portland

Starts: 10:30 a.m.

The parade starts Southern Maine Community College and heads down Broadway to the Veteran’s Monument

Biddeford and Saco

Starts: 10 a.m.

The parade starts Saco on the corner of Main and Beach Streets and heads down York Hill before continuing onto Biddeford's Main Street. The parade heads to Adams Street to Jefferson Street before ending on Pool Street.

Skowhegan

Starts: 10 a.m.

The parade heads down Madison Avenue to downtown and turns onto Water Street. Parade ends at Skowhegan Veterans Park.
