Here Are The Best Playgrounds In Southern Maine
Now that warmer weather is finally here in Southern Maine, it's time to get the kids playing outside! If you're having a hard time figuring out the best playgrounds to take your kids in the area, we've got you covered! We checked all kinds of sources...from Google ratings, Best Things Maine, Yelp!, Down East, and Portland Kids Calendar. We chose the best of the best free and public playgrounds in the area. Here's what we found:
Deering Oaks Park - Portland
55-acre public park, which has a baseball diamond, tennis courts, a playground, and a pond.
Reiche School Playground - Portland
Nice big playground, a really good environment for young children
Payson Park - Portland
Payson features a playground, tennis courts, open fields, ice skating pond, and winter recreation hill (sledding/snowboard park).
Wiscasset Community Playground - Wiscasset
Great for small kids. Nice soft mulch, in case they fall!
Willard Park - South Portland
A great playground, located on Willard Beach. A beautiful spot!
Edwards Field - Brunswick
A children’s playground, ¼-mile stone dust track and an outdoor basketball court are also located within this facility.
Fort Williams Playground - Cape Elizabeth
Known mostly for Portland Headlight, Fort Williams also boasts two spacious playgrounds that have new and well-kept equipment.
