When the station originally signed on the air, it was known as WMTW-FM. In 1963, it was sold to Tonight Show host Jack Parr. It switched call letters to WHOM-FM in 1976. The oldest audio sample of the station we could find online happens to be from that year, courtesy of Mark Vieth and mostlyuppermidwestairchecks.com
