New Hampshire? Live free or die, New Hampshire? Yup.

New Hampshire is number one followed by Missouri, Florida, North Carolina, and Mississippi. Holy cow!

According to the U.S. News and World Report, our country has some of the highest rates of gun-related deaths of any developed country. Gun homicide rates are over 25 times higher than any other high-income nation. And in 2019, there were almost 40,000 firearm-related deaths in the U.S. according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A lot of experts say it makes sense. The high rate of gun violence here happens because of the number of guns available. In a November 2020 Gallup poll, about 44% of people in the U.S. live with a gun. In 2019, about 7 million guns were produced. But it could be more because this doesn't include unlicensed or privately made guns or 'ghost guns' as they are called.

U.S. News and World Report says,

...in 2019, New Hampshire accounted for the most firearm production of any state, with 1.2 million guns, followed by Missouri, Florida, North Carolina and Mississippi. Those five states made up more than half of all licensed firearms produced in the country.

I don't know whether to be proud or scared. I mean, good for New Hampshire being number one in something - but does it have to be in gun production?
