Grace Period For Expired Maine Driver’s Licenses Is Almost Up
Hard to believe it's been 3 months since the world essentially shut down around us. While the pandemic certainly isn't a good thing, we were able to fully embrace our inner procrastinators as we entered a grace period for a handful of things such as renewing driver licenses.
Well, that grace period is coming to an end as of August 9th.
Now, I don't know about you, but a trip to the BMV pre-pandemic was less than fun. Imagine after August 9th when EVERYONE else who needed to renew their license is there too.
Plus, now that bars and restaurants are about to be open across the state, you'll want that ID ready as soon as possible. (Seriously, don't get angry at your server or bartender because you have expired ID. They're just doing their job by NOT serving you in that situation.)
Thankfully there is a way to renew online which you can do here or call the Bureau of Motor Vehicles License Services division at 207-624-9000 Ext. 52114.
