Free Parking In Portland Ends Soon
It's been great not having to pay for parking in downtown Portland, Maine for the last several weeks. Not only has it been very convenient and a time-saver to park my car right outside the building and run upstairs in the morning, but it's also been easy on the wallet. However, all good things must come to an end.
Starting on June 1st, we'll have to scrounge around our cars for spare change again, (or use credit cards in the our newer meters), according to WGME. Parking will be enforced for metered parking and time zones. I've gotten my fair share of parking tickets since I moved here, so take this seriously.
Also, if you have a residential permit that expires on June 30, 2020, WGME says "it will automatically be renewed" through next June. So, there's no need to make a trip to City Hall.
