Former HOM Radio Personality & Sea Dogs Voice Dean Rogers Has Passed Away
The legendary Dean Rogers worked at 94.9 WHOM long before I ever even thought about moving to Maine. I've been told that our listeners woke up to his golden voice, one once upon a time. His wife, Sharon shared the picture you see above on her Facebook page, letting everyone know that her husband had passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, July 5th, 2020. The Portland Press Herald says Rogers died from cardiac arrest after hip surgery on Sunday. He was 73. Mrs. Rogers wrote, "Dean left Mother Earth to play ball in the big ballpark in heaven."
Along with his impressive radio resume, Rogers was also the voice of the Sea Dogs for almost two decades, as per the Herald. He attended Cheverus High School in Portland, and was married to his wife for almost 50 years. They had one son named Mark, and would have celebrated their anniversary later this month, according to the article.
