Florida Man Arrested For Skimming Device Scam At New England Gas Stations
The man who allegedly stole thousands of people's debit and credit card account numbers has been caught, according to the Portland, Maine Police Department. In a report posted on the department's Facebook page, the Portland Police said they had investigated cases where skimmers were being used at a gas station on Congress Street last year.
The alleged thief is Luis Angel Naranjo Rodriguez of Hialeah, Florida, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the District of Massachusetts Department of Justice. He was reportedly arrested in Concord, Massachusetts when Concord Police caught him red-handed with multiple skimming devices and gas pump keys. Then, when police searched Rodriguez's hotel room, they reportedly discover more than 5,600 account numbers from skimming devices at gas stations all over New England, including Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. He is facing of up to 10 years in prison, if found guilty.
