It seems like we've been talking about Market Basket opening in Westbrook forever. The Portland Press Herald says it's finally happening this Friday morning. It is the greater Portland area's first Market Basket, and only the second in the state of Maine. The other supermarket is in Biddeford.

The two-month delay in opening has reportedly be due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of coronavirus, you will see many of the same safety measures you see at other grocery stores, such as markings on the floor to indicate six-foot distancing and one-way aisles. Also, only so many people will be allowed in at one time.

The new 80,000-square-foot Market Basket is located at Rock Row in Westbrook. The area will also reportedly feature a 12-screen movie theater, Starbucks and The Paper Store, along with other businesses, according to the Portland Press Herald.
