New England truly is a four season wonderland.  No matter what time of the year you visit, you will always find natural beauty in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

This could not be more clear than during the autumn.  All you have to do is look outside to see the most brilliant colors of nature.

There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of our fall foliage.  You could take a hike, take a scenic drive, or, for many of us, the foliage is as close as a walk into our backyard.

But, if you are looking for a really unique way to enjoy the colors of fall, you need to take a drive to Camden, Maine.

The Camden Snow Bowl, known for being a great place for beginners to learn the basics of skiing and snowboarding, offers fall foliage chairlift rides every October.  If you think the foliage is amazing from the ground, imaging what it is like from about the canopy?

In 2022, the Camden Snow Bowl will be offering foliage chairlift rides from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sundays in October.  They'll also be offering the rides on Saturday, October 8th.

The website explains:

Ride the triple chairlift up and experience what Ragged Mountain has to offer – views of Penobscot Bay and the Gulf of Maine to the East with mountains all around you, including Blue Hill and Cadillac Mountain downeast on a clear day.  Bring your camera and water, sensible shoes and a windbreaker or some layers.

The listing on the site explains that you must get off at the top of the mountain.  But, that's great because you want to spend a little time at the summit enjoying the views and the brilliant fall colors.  When you have seen enough, you can either get in line and ride the lift back down or, if you want to get your steps in, you can hike down the mountain.

No pets are allowed on the chairlifts and all backpacks must be held in your lap.
