It's a place that we've all been (well most of us) several times throughout our lives and a place that, even as an adult, still holds a ton of magic deep inside our hearts. No, we're not talking about Disney World, we're talking about a place a whole lot closer to home and with much shorter lines to get onto the rides. We're talking about the one and only Santa's Village located in the heart of Jefferson New Hampshire.

From the talking Rudolph bust just out front of the park to the overheard sleigh ride and Yule Log Flume, Santa's Village in New Hampshire has been extracting magic from deep within our hearts for literal decades. Sadly, as is being reported, a piece of our childhood will be retiring and coming down this fall.

The park said in part in their post,

Let's enjoy a Pure Joy Family Style summertime season riding Rudy's Rapid Transit Coaster before the ride is retired from service during Fall 2023. It's a family favorite and we are sad to see it go. We'll share updates about improvements for future seasons soon!

Though we're, like so many others, are crushed to be seeing a piece of history (that's been in the park since 1988) being torn down, we remain hopeful that Santa himself has big plans to replace it with something equally, if not more, epic as the Rudolph Rapid Transit Coaster was.

The good news? Since the park plans on retiring the ride 'this fall', there is still ample time for you to plan a trip to the Jefferson, New Hampshire park and take one last ride on a childhood favorite.

Merry Christmas.

9 Closed Maine Amusement & Water Parks

We have put together a list of now closed amusement parks and water parks. Some of these were in operation in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s... Some haven't been around for over a century. ***Keep in mind that some of the information regarding when these places were open and what they offered comes from listener comments and stories passed down by people who visited (or worked at) these parks.
