Eat at Scarborough’s Ken’s Place and Honor the Memory of 5-Year-Old Elle
Have dinner at Ken's Place in Scarborough, and do more than have an amazing meal.
Let's meet Elle.
Elle was special. She was sweet, generous, kind....as well as cantankerous and sassy. Smart, silly, and sometimes stunningly insightful, she was an old soul from the day she was born. She was diagnosed in 2009 with an extremely rare form of cancer known as Pleuropulmonary Blastoma. PPB is diagnosed in fewer than 20 children per year in the United States. It is highly aggressive and the success rate for treatment is, unfortunately, low. They gave Elle two to six months to live. She made it 20 before passing away in October of 2010. She was three months shy of her sixth birthday.
For being so young, she never once asked "why me?" and she never gave up. Her parents have never given up on her spirit and have raised money with the Power of Elle.
Tonight at Ken's Place Seafood in Scarborough, you can help by just having a great meal. From 4pm to 8pm Wednesday, September 20, 100% of the tips at the bar will be donated to childhood cancer research & will stay here in Maine through the Power of Elle.
Elle loved flowers, dancing, and music. She loved to eat Fruit Rollups late at night and drink chocolate milk early in the morning. She loved the Red Sox, hated the Yankees, and "respected the Phillies". Her favorite all-time food was steak. Medium-rare steak. This is a kid that should be honored.
