People who have lived in Maine for a while probably remember this, but if you're like me, and have only lived here for a few years, you might not know. Back in 2008, some folks in Bethel, Maine set the Guinness World Record for the world's tallest snowman ever built. And twelve years later, it appears that the record still stands.

At 122 feet tall, it was only less than thirty feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty.

She sported a scarf that was more than one hundred feet long. And her buttons were snow tires.

But here's what makes it even more interesting: the "snowman" actually wasn't even a man at all. It was a snow WOMAN! She was named "Olympia," after Maine's then U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe.
