One of my favorite YouTube channels just so happened to have a video submitted to them of a car accident on Lake Road in Norway, Maine, that was captured by the driver's dash camera.

Dash Cameras to the Rescue

Dash cameras have become very popular in many metropolitan areas. Having a dashcam that constantly records what it sees out the windshield and the rear window in some models can provide drivers with the evidence they need to determine who was at fault in an accident. Most car accidents are avoidable with careful driving, but when you get rear-ended, the camera footage doesn't lie and can ensure that the person at fault is responsible for damages.

Dashcam Nation

The "Dashcam Nation" YouTube channel posts weekly videos of accidents submitted to them for their "Idiots in Cars" segment. The name pretty much says it all. I love this channel and every time I watch a new video, I walk away thinking to myself, "What an idiot!"

Accident on Lake Road in Norway, Maine

A video was submitted by ROLDYBU to Dashcam Nation for their weekly compilation of accidents. ROLDYBU, whoever they may be, had gotten a dash cam for their birthday, and on May 25, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., that dashcam paid off.

The driver stopped on Lake Road in Norway to make a left turn onto Roberts Road. In what sounds like a classic case of distracted driving, a car came up behind the turning vehicle and slammed into its back end. I've cued up the video for you above.

Unfortunately, not much else is known about this accident, but with the length of time the driver was waiting to make the turn when oncoming traffic cleared, there's no doubt in my mind that the driver causing the accident was distracted.
