Well, it is getting to be that time of year. A time when the weather grows chilly and things that we enjoyed during the summer months are starting to close down. This includes our favorite summer treat on a hot day...ice cream.

Of course, not all ice cream locations will be closed during the colder months, however, some of your favorite local ice cream stands may be. One beloved ice cream stand located on US-1 in Scarborough, Maine, is one of the local ice cream locations that is preparing to close for the colder months. Of course, I am talking about The Dairy Corner.

Every time that I drive past The Dairy Corner, I notice that the line is long (and there are usually two lines for customers), so of course, I had to stop to try it myself. After my first ice cream there, I was hooked and learned to understand why there was always a long line.

One thing that could keep people coming back weekly (other than the fact that their ice cream is amazing) is the fact that every week The Dairy Corner offers 2 flavors of the week (one is usually a soft serve).

With homemade waffle cones, ice cream cakes and pizzas (yes, they actually have an ice cream pizza) and over 70 ice cream flavors including hard ice cream, soft serve, frozen yogurt, and dairy-free options there is no denying that The Dairy Corner is one of the best spots for an after-dinner treat.

Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end at some point. The Dairy Corner is set to close for the season on Monday, October 10th. Luckily for us, they will reopen next year for us to enjoy during the warmer weather.
