Couple From Oxford, Maine Wins ‘Wife Carrying Championship’ at Sunday River
A couple from Oxford, Maine just won a ton of beer and bragging rights to one of the most exclusive and bizarre contests on Earth.
That's right… They're the 2018 Wife-Carrying Champions!
WMTW has a great video of Jesse Wall and Christine Arsenault winning the annual competition at Sunday River.
What the heck is wife carrying? It's an internationally-recognized contest in which male competitors race while each carrying a female teammate. The objective is for the male to carry the female through a special obstacle track in the fastest time. It's originally from eastern Europe.
