No matter where you go, college is expensive. But here in New England, you can expect to shell out some of the highest tuition rates in the country, according to a recent study. Move.org recently published a study showing the average cost of college tuition by state. And guess what - the three most expensive states...are in New England! In fact, out of the top ten states with the highest tuition, five of them are New England states. The only New England state that didn't make the top ten is Maine, which just barely missed the top ten, ranking 11th. Here are the top 10:

  1. Rhode Island
  2. Vermont
  3. Massachusetts
  4. Washington, DC
  5. Pennsylvania
  6. Indiana
  7. New Hampshire
  8. Connecticut
  9. Iowa
  10. New York

If you're looking for a more affordable education, check out Wyoming, New Mexico, and North Dakota - those states have the lowest average tuition cost.
