Can You Solve It? This Maine Clue Was in a Recent New York Times Crossword Puzzle

Are you a Sudoku fan? Maybe dabble in some Wordle? What about Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune?

Well, if you happened to have been attempting to complete one of the latest New York Times crossword puzzles, you may have noticed one of the clues involved the Pine Tree State.

That's right, No. 41 Down's clue on the April 14 New York Times crossword puzzle was listed as "Maine Attractions."

Rep. Chellie Pingree noticed the local clue and shared it on her Facebook page.

According to the New York Times Crossword answers, this particular answer happened to be "Pines." And it looks like Pingree got it as per her photo.

Would you have gotten the five-letter word? Would your first instinct for a "Maine attraction" be "Pines"?

Certainly, the state's nickname of the Pine Tree State runs in line with the answer, but one would imagine so many other things before "Pines." Right? Or maybe you're just way smarter and the answer is an obvious one.

Either way, it's great to see Maine get some spotlight on a staple game that's been around since 1942, according to the New York Times. And there have probably been other times the state has been used in the crossword, too, so let us know if that's the case.
