Can You Feel My (Foot) Pain?
I die a little bit on the inside every day, knowing I can no longer wear my favorite heels. It's silly, I know. But to get rid of the loves of my life would be sacrilege against all of the shoe gods, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin included. Okay, I don't actually own a pair of red bottoms, but I would if I could justify spending $800 on footwear. My lovely Jimmy Choos were on sale.
Here's my dilemma: I can no longer wear high heels because of severe pain in my ankles (arthritis, maybe?) whenever I wear them for more than five minutes. It feels like my ankles are crumbling beneath me, and I have to take them off immediately. This growing old thing is not for me, and I want my high-heel wearing youth back!
Several of our listeners suggested I donate my collection of shoes to local charities. And I eventually will… I just want to look and play with them a little while longer. Pretending is not as much fun as actually wearing them out on the town with the perfect LBD.
