Brunswick Police are investigating a head-on crash this morning on Bath Road near Sawyer Park. Nathan Fowler, was driving one of the cars as was hit. The other driver in the crash (identified as Jason Curran), fled the scene after the incident. Fowler chased Curran on foot as he fled into West Bath. According to reports, Curran was later found and detained by Brunswick Police Officers just over the town line in West Bath.

From the Brunswick PD Facebook Page:

Investigation into the crash determined Curran was operating a 2020 Jeep and had veered into the opposite lane of travel, crashing head on with Fowler’s vehicle. Fowler had attempted to avoid contact by swerving towards the shoulder, but was unable to avoid the crash. After the head on collision, Fowler’s vehicle, a 2012 Dodge pickup, then struck a CMP pole, causing the pole to crack in half, however remained upright. Travel was limited to one lane on Bath Rd. for approximately 45 minutes.

Luckily, neither party had life-threatening injuries.
