Broken Compact Makeup Hack: Does It Work?

Every woman has dropped her compact powder at least once in her lifetime, right? I've dropped mine more times than I can count, and it's infuriating. The compact in the picture above fell out of my purse a week after I bought it, so I immediately looked for a quick fix on the Internet. Google to the rescue!

I found the same instructions on many different websites all telling me to do the same thing: Add a few drops of 70% or higher concentration of isopropyl alcohol, mash it up with a spoon or your fingers, and let it sit overnight until it dries.

It's not very pretty and it's still cracked, but it's functional… even though I may have added too much alcohol. None of the websites I visited gave me an exact amount to add. A few drops was not enough, so I guessed. I ended up using about 3/4's of a plastic spoonful.
