Portland, Maine’s Boozy Affogatos Might Be the Drink of the Summer
Okay, we’re calling it right now: the drink of the summer has officially arrived in our beautiful Portland, Maine, and honestly, it may be the most dangerously yummy warm-weather sip yet!
It was first spotted, thanks to Plates of Portland on Instagram, who so graciously highlighted the boozy affogatos over at Low Key on Munjoy Hill.
I can now tell you, this will not leave me mind. I must try it. Like.. This is the kind of dessert drink combo that makes you text your friends and say, “We’re going here tonight.”

And if you’ve never had the pleasure of sipping on an affogato before, oh honey, you are missing out. It’s basically espresso poured over soft serve ice cream, but Low Key has taken things to a higher level by making them boozy.
OH! And Low Key makes their soft-serve in house! Honestly, that explains why people are already obsessing over it.
The texture looks insanely creamy, the espresso gives it that perfect kick and the alcohol just screams for you to have a girls night, day, morning or afternoon.
And now that the weather is finally cooperating, this feels like the perfect excuse to celebrate.
