700 Drones Will Light Up the Sky at Boothbay Harbor’s Biggest Show Ever

If you’re looking for a reason to make the drive to Boothbay Harbor next weekend, this is it!  This Friday, July 17, at 9:00 p.m., the harbor will host what is expected to be the largest drone show ever performed in the state of Maine, according to the Boothbay Chamber of Commerce. 

The show will last about 15 to 17 minutes, but expect it to be one of those moments people will be talking about long after it’s over.

Instead of traditional fireworks, 700 synchronized drones will soar 400 feet above the harbor, creating more than 20 patriotic and Maine-inspired images in the night sky as music fills the waterfront.

Maine's Biggest Drone Show Happening in Boothbay Harbor

This isn't just a drone show, it's an entire night out.

The celebration is part of America's 250th birthday, and Boothbay Harbor is pulling out all the stops before the sky lights up.

If you're wondering where to grab the best view, make your way to Carousel Marina or Whale's Tale along the inner harbor.

Get there early, order dinner, grab a drink, and soak in one of Maine's most beautiful places.

You'll also get to see the historic Tall Ship Lynx and Maine's own schooner Bowdoin in the harbor, while music from local favorites like Danny Beal, Mark Stover and the Holy Mackerels, Bob Bua, and Tim Sprague and Murky Water Band keeps the energy going.

Just before the drones take over the night sky, Suzie Edwards will perform the National Anthem live, setting the stage for what could be one of the most unforgettable summer nights in Maine.
