Body found this afternoon in Freeport, Maine
According to WGME, just a couple of hours ago around noon Tuesday, September 27, a Marine Patrol plane discovered a body while flying over the ocean.
There has been nothing confirmed as of this writing at 2:40 p.m. by Freeport police or Maine Game Wardens as far as the identity of the body.
The body was found around the area where Freeport Police, other local police departments, and other officials have been searching since Theo Ferrara was reported missing just five days ago, the news station reported.
Theo Ferrara has been missing since last Thursday
According to Theo's mother, Mia, Theo was last seen around 4:30 p.m. last Thursday leaving his home on Flying Point Road in Freeport and heading toward Brunswick. One of the many printed and digital flyers making the rounds about Theo goes further into detail, saying his last sighting on Flying Point Road was near Maquoit Bay.
What Theo Ferrara was last seen in
Again, there are zero details on the body discovered this afternoon by Maine Game Wardens as far as identity as of 2:40 p.m., or any features or any clothing on the body. According to Theo's mother, Mia, Theo was last seen wearing a white windbreaker with a t-shirt underneath, gray shorts with a neon stripe, a blue drawstring backpack, and flip-flops.
On Friday, Freeport Police did have to urge the public not to conduct self-searches in the wooded areas near where Theo was reportedly last seen and in surrounding areas. While they appreciated the help and selfless nature of neighbors to find Theo, they didn't want to disrupt conditions that could interfere with the K-9 officers being used during searches.
