Blood Donations Down Due to Snow Storms
With all the snow days that we've had recently, blood donations are down. The American Red Cross states that over 100 blood drives were cancelled because of the blizzard. With more snow this week, donations are expected to dwindle. Flu outbreaks are also affecting blood supplies.Donors in affected areas are urged to give blood or platelets as soon as travel is deemed safe. You can make an appointment to give blood online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS. Those with type B negative or O negative blood are especially encouraged to give.
