
Two of the Best Road Trips in the Country Are Right Here in Maine
Sometimes we get cravings, not for food but to explore. Let’s call them exploration cravings. If you are in need of a road trip, HGTV just named two Maine road trips that are among the best in the entire country!
So, grab your snack back and stop at Dunkin, and hit the road.
First up on their list is the Down East Maine Route on Route 1, it’s also referred to as the Lobster Trail. This is a perfect coastal cruise in Kittery. You have to stop and grab a bite at Bob’s Clam Hunt and enjoy the charming downs like Belfast and Rockland. You cruise all the way to Lubec.
Two Road Trips That Put Maine on the Map
Lubec is gorgeous it is the easternmost town in the nation where you are able to witness the first sunrise in the country, according to Visit Maine.
Next up on the list of the two best road trips in the country is the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway. I can tell you from personal experience that this 52 mile masterpiece through western Maine will take your breath away.

Take the drive in the fall and you will be blown away with the foliage and colors. It’s like a daydream, you’ll drive by lakes and mountain views. Oh! And my favorite part is when you can get a peek of the Appalachian ridgeline.
