Had the pleasure of playing Belgrade Lakes GC while on vacation last week. Here's a tour of one of the best golf experiences in the state of Maine-

I was coming back from the Kenny Loggins gig in Rangeley a few weeks back when I noticed a golf course through the woods on Rt 27 in Belgrade. Then I remembered hearing something about a "really good" course up there from my pal and former long time WHOM personality, GV Rapp, who I had the pleasure of working with for years.

Being in the golf business for many years before my radio career I had to check out this "good track". Introduced myself to Kyle Evans, President of Belgrade Lakes GC. Talked a little shop and made arrangements to come back.

Here's my story:

Hole #1. They stagger the tee times well apart so it seems like you're the only group out there.

The course was built by Harold Alfond for "The Regular Guy" Please read this amazing story:

From the time we hit the bag drop to when we drove off it was first class all the way. Plus you gotta love a pro shop that smells like bacon AND is dog friendly.

The Belgrade Lakes area would be a great spot to take your honey to a bed and breakfast this fall. Peep some leaves and play some golf.
