Recently, my wife and I ventured out in Boothbay Harbor and happened upon this glorious park that has since taken my breath away and I cannot stop talking about it.

Barrett’s Park in Boothbay Harbor did something to me.

I don’t know who deserves the credit for maintaining this place, but they deserve a standing ovation.

The grass is immaculate, the landscaping is beautiful, the waterfront is pristine, and somehow everything just feels… cared for.

In a time when it seems harder and harder to find public spaces that are this clean and well-kept, Barrett’s Park is genuinely refreshing.

I Think I Just Found Maine’s Most Picture-Perfect Park

Then there’s the gazebo. It’s the kind of gazebo that looks like it belongs in a Hallmark movie. I immediately thought, “If you’re taking graduation photos, engagement pictures, family portraits, or even getting married, this is the spot.”

It has that effortless coastal Maine backdrop that photographers dream about, and it’s no surprise the park has become a popular location for weddings and special occasions.

But my favorite part? The swing. Hanging from a massive old tree overlooking the water, it’s one of those simple things that somehow feels magical.

It makes you want to kick your shoes off, forget your phone for five minutes, and just swing while staring out at the ocean. The craziest part is that this little slice of paradise is only about 90 minutes from my house.

Boothbay Harbor honestly feels like stepping into another world.

The pace slows down, the ocean breeze hits differently, and every corner looks like it belongs on a postcard.
