This Bar Harbor Lobster Spot May Be The Most Kid Friendly Restaurant in Maine

I think every Maine parent knows the real struggle of finding a kid friendly restaurant where the food is great and the children aren’t asking to leave after 7 minutes.  

That’s why I had to share this family-friendly gem in Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor Lobster Pound isn’t just a place to grab fresh Maine lobster.

Located at 414 ME-3, Bar Harbor, it's one of those rare spots where kids can actually have fun while the adults enjoy their meal.

While you’re waiting for your food, the kids can run around in the open outdoor space, play cornhole, watch lobsters being cooked, and even hold a live lobster.

The Best Kid Friendly Seafood Spot in Maine

Honestly, that’s probably more exciting than whatever’s on their kids menu. Not to mention, the setup is super casual and easy.

You order at an outdoor window, find a picnic table, and simply soak up that classic Maine feel.

There’s also indoor seating if the weather decides to do what Maine weather does best and change its mind.

Parents will honestly appreciate the separate bar serving cocktails, beer, wine, and what visitors swear are some pretty epic blueberry margaritas.

And if lobster isn’t enough of a treat, there’s an ice cream stand right on-site for dessert. What I love most is that it feels like the kind of place where nobody cares if your kids are a little loud, a little sandy, or a little sticky from melted ice cream.

The lobster is great, but the fact that your kids will actually be entertained might be the real catch of the day.
