Automatic Tipping?

Even if you get horrible service, do you still tip your server anyway?

We got an email from a listener who recently had a horrible experience at a restaurant. They went on to explain that while they will usually leave some sort of a tip IF the server does a nice job, they DON'T automatically tip every time, like a lot of people do.

I don't think I've ever had a restaurant experience that was so bad that I was compelled to not leave any tip at all. I may have went a little under what I would normally leave if the service was exceptionally bad, but I wouldn't be able to walk out with leaving nothing at all.
