Massachusetts: Worcester
The reason: The second-largest city in the bean state has a thriving music scene, along with excellent bars, breweries, and gastropubs. We had to look up the definition of "gastropub." It's a bar and restaurant that serves high-end food and beer.
New Hampshire: Peterborough
The reason: One of the most hiked mountains in the United States is in the Granite State, according to Thrillest. Then, there's kayaking at MacDowell Dam.
Maine: Lewiston
The reason: Liberty Festival fireworks and the annual Great Falls Balloon Festival.
Vermont: Jay
The reason: Jay Peak is a "true gem of Northeast skiing," according to Thrillest. It's the snowiest mountain with 380 inches of snowfall per year.
