We are getting a new spot for bagels and coffee, and honestly, I am very into this!

Ani’s Bagel Cafe is expanding from Exeter, New Hampshire, and opening its first Maine location at 175 Depot Road in Wells.

The café is slated to open October 11, 2026, bringing its fresh bagels, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and lunch options to the Maine coast.

And if you’re already familiar with Ani’s in Exeter, you know this isn’t just a place to grab a basic bagel and run.

The menu includes classic bagels like everything and sesame, along with fun flavors like jalapeño cheddar, French toast and focaccia. They also make their cream cheese in-house, with options like veggie, chive, maple walnut, cucumber dill and jalapeño.

Then there are the breakfast sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, salads and lunch sandwiches so basically, you could walk in for “just a bagel” and somehow leave with much more.

Which… sounds about right.

The Wells location has been in the works for a while and their Facebook page is promoting the opening with hiring opportunities!

Ani’s recently shared that they’re this close to opening after months of planning, building and, apparently, a few hundred cups of coffee.

So if you’re in the Wells area and love finding a new local breakfast spot, October 11 might need to go on your calendar.

I have a feeling the bagel breakfast sandwich people are going to be very happy about this one.
