Anabel’s Angels’ Makeover Winner: Sarah Keeps Smiling Despite Double Mastectomy
Every Friday in October, we gave someone who is currently dealing with cancer or who has survived it a makeover, courtesy of Anabel's Angels a 501c3 nonprofit organization designed to provide support to underfunded clinical trials and programs for the terminally ill and physically afflicted. One of last month's winners is Sarah Emerson from Portland, Maine. She was nominated by her friend, Cristin who had this to say about Sarah:
I met Sarah this summer through a local Portland Running Group, the Runaways. Two weeks ago, Sarah had a double mastectomy and is now officially in remission. The most amazing part about her is how incredibly positive and caring this woman is. I have never seen her without a smile on her face. Just after her surgery, she was back out to all of our events and races to cheer us on. Nothing stops her and nothing gets this girl down. She is the type of person who always lifts other people's spirits around her, when it should be the opposite way around. She is truly a beautiful person and is very deserving.
Thank you for sharing Sarah's experience with us. It is Anabel's Angels' hope and our hope to bring light into our listeners' lives and put smiles on the faces of people who need a little pampering with a makeover.
