There are a lot of different haunted attractions that you can visit in Maine but there's few that can match the scope and the history of the old Parsonsfield Seminary.  It was once used to prepare future priests and ministers for their responsibilities but now is used for many different reasons. That includes transforming the entire seminary, all 42 rooms, into a sprawling haunted house during the Halloween season.

The Haunting at Parsonsfield Seminary is celebrating their 13th year of scaring your socks off. The event consists of a special tour guide leading you through the historic seminary with all of its nooks and crannies. Some rooms are straightforward, some are not and it's the element of surprise that sends chills down those who dare tour the campus. Unlike other haunts, there is no touching at the Parsonsfield Seminary, instead the scare factor comes from animatronics and other special effects. The "tour" through the seminary lasts about 40 minutes and is suitable for all-ages.

The seminary itself was built in 1857 after the initial seminary burned to the ground under mysterious circumstances in 1853. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and this is a major fundraiser to preserve the building and campus.

There is only one weekend remaining to tour the old Parsonsfield Seminary. The attraction will be open Friday, October 25th and Saturday October 26th from 6:30-9pm.
