Adele Confirms ’30’ Album Is Coming, Jokes It May Be a ‘Drum N Bass Record’
Adele turned 31 Sunday (May 5) and marked the occasion with a heartfelt note addressing self-love and new music. She also took a cheeky dig at fans who used the recent news of her split from husband Simon Konecki as reason to celebrate and look forward to new breakup songs.
"This is 31 ... thank f---ing god. 30 tried me so hard but I'm owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. No matter how long we're here for life is constant and complicated at times," Adele wrote on Instagram. "I've changed drastically in the last couple years and I'm still changing and that's okay. 31 is going to be a big ol' year and I'm going to spend it all on myself."
The superstar singer added that "for the first time in a decade I'm ready to feel the world around me and look up for once."
"Be kind to yourself people we're only human, go slow, put your phone down and laugh out loud at every opportunity. Learning to REALLY truly love yourself is it, and I've only just realized that that is more than enough," she continued, joking, "I'll learn to love you lot eventually."
Then, taking a playful dig at some of her less sensitive fans, she wrote, "Bunch of f---ing savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you!"
Most excitingly, it appears the artist confirmed her next album will indeed be titled 30, and will likely be out this year. (As a reminder: Adele's previous records, 19, 21 and 25, were all titled after the ages which she recorded them.)
