On June 1st, the American Cancer Society of Greater Portland will hold it's annual Relay For Life event at South Portland High School in South Portland. There will be several teams participating in this year's event, which raises money to end the battle against cancer. One of those teams is "A Caring Spirit," led by co-captains Seikah Roberts and her mother, Janet Roberts.

“I've had various friends and family members have their scares, fights, survivals, deaths with cancer. I personally lost my aunt to brain cancer back in December 2011,” said Seikah. “I never got to say goodbye because I was at school at the time. I felt lost and depressed, and I still regret not saying goodbye.”

Seikah and Janet have been walking in Relay For Life for about fifteen years.
